Contribute generously to God by supporting the needs of the church,
the community, and the world.
“If you give, you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full measure, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, and running over. With the measure you use in giving, it will be measured to you” (Luke 6:38).
Jesus measured generosity by a radically new standard: the condition of the giver's heart. "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" (Matthew 6:21).
Christ's Family Church believes that the body of Christ can reach its potential when each one is bringing their tithe (10% of their income) to the church. Although God is not limited to this, we believe this is God's primary way of funding His ministry. It is also the way that we put God in charge of our own individual finances. When we bring Him the tithe, we are saying to God that we trust Him to provide for us and even to make the remaining 90% to go farther than if we had kept the whole 100%. Our giving really is an expression of our faith and trust in the Lord.
If you have not been a person or family that tithes, there is no condemnation or shame to be found. But, here is a challenge to you to take steps toward that giving of 10%. Maybe just start at 2 or 3% and watch to see what happens. We believe that when you take steps towards God's way, He will show Himself faithful to you to provide just as He says in His Word.
Here is what the Bible teaches us about tithing:
FROM A GLAD HEART: "...Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion: for God loves a cheerful giver." (2 Cor. 9:7)
AN ACT OF WORSHIP: "On the first day of every week..." (1Cor. 16:2) "...your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God..." (2 Cor. 9:12) A PRIVILEGE: "Blessed are you Lord God...but who am I and who are my people, that we should be able to give..." (1 Chr. 29:10-15)
A BLESSING TO THE GIVER: "Bring all the tithes into the storehouse that there may be food in My house and try Me now in this, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it." (Malachi 3:8-10)
LORD IS THE PROVIDER: "Remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth." (Deuteronomy 8:18)
